Open riser stairs allow more light to flow through them, which can benefit many properties and make a room feel bigger.
A bar of some description must be used to achieve the building regulation requirement of not allowing a 100mm sphere to pass through.
This can be in the form of a timber bar or metal bar.
You can have metal bars, either square or round, as well as polished, brushed or black.
This staircase features brushed metal bars.

Due to the stairs being open riser, thicker treads are required for support.
This staircase was manufactured with 32mm oak treads.
However, due to updated guidance, we are now using 44mm oak treads for part open riser stairs with metal bars.
The 3D model and price are based on 44mm oak treads.

We offer multiple handrail profiles. However, we no longer offer "Square Profile" handrail as standard; instead, we offer "Modern Choice" handrail, which has better ergonomics.
We can still offer "Square Profile" handrail on request as a special order.

We offer numerous options for feature treads. However, the traditional curved bullnose feature treads on this staircase is still the most popular choice.

Traditional bullnoses have the following advantages:

• Staying within the width of the staircase.
• Moving the posts back by one tread depth creates a feeling of more space.
• The most cost-effective feature tread option.

We offer glass panels either:

• On clamps (with a choice of style and finish).
• Embedded into a groove within the handrail & baserail.

The glass on this staircase is embedded into a groove.
All glass panels we supply are made to measure for each staircase.
