N.B. The price shown is based on the staircase above and calculated based on current pricing.
Although the width of each flight on most staircases is the same, it's perfectly legal and acceptable to have multiple widths.
This staircase is particularly narrow. However, to save additional space, the width of flight two has been reduced to 600mm.
Most staircases we manufacture are "standard construction" in that the area is held together using wedges and glue blocks, meaning the underside of the staircase needs to be covered.
However, we can manufacture stairs which are "exposed back". Exposed back stairs do not have any wedges of glue blocks, so there's no need to cover the underside, creating a feature that can look very impressive
Usually, the top post on a staircase would match the rest. However, given the space's tightness, the customer opted to use a larger 90x135mm laminated post so that a handrail mitre joint wasn't required.
This staircase having two kite winders allows it to turn 180°.
The kite winders are next to each other, forming a tight turn. The inside winder box posts are glued together to form a 90x180mm post.
The stair worked out great, that's my second or third stair purchase for you guys and it seems to be a lot less hassle than getting it made by the local joinery contractors.
