Case Studies -
White Oak cut string staircase with chamfered balustrades.
A cut string staircase like this one has the string cut away, normally on the exposed side, this way the treads protrude past the stringers and the spindles/balusters are doweled on top of the tread rather than going into a base rail, this creates a more traditional look. This staircase also has cut string brackets which are planted on the side of the strings to add a further decorative feature, cut string brackets like this can be made to any design the customer requires, for further examples of cut string staircases please see "similar case studies" at the bottom of this page.
