N.B. The price shown is based on the staircase above and calculated based on current pricing.
In a scenario like this, there is only one tread before the turn.
You have three options, either:
Using a feature tread when there's one or two treads before the first turn makes a lot of sense, as it looks great and is often cheaper.
Feature treads also have the advantage of making the room feel bigger.
We can provide stairs with some components pre-primed.
Primed components aren’t significantly more expensive and will save you extensive time when finishing the stairs, should you be painting it.
Primed components will still need a top coat of emulsion of a colour of your choice.
This stair is entirely painted except for the handrail and post caps, which are pine.
Doing this makes a lot of sense. Paint can chip and become damaged, making it look unsightly.
Having the "touch points", i.e. handrail and post caps, mitigates this.
Using kite winders saves space compared to landings, which makes sense when space is limited.
The posts don't necessarily need to go to the floor on a kite winder.
However, when possible, for example, when a cupboard is being built below it anyway, it makes sense to drop the posts to the floor as it makes for a more stable stair and makes it easier to fit.
