When specifying and buying a staircase, there are many material options available.
Often, customers opt for the entire staircase in oak or to paint the whole staircase.
However, a mix of materials, such as in the case of this staircase, can look quite effective and is much more cost-effective than having the entire stair in oak.
We do not generally recommend painting the "touch points", i.e. handrail caps & treads, as the paint can easily chip and look unsightly.
This staircase is perfect as it has oak handrail and caps!
This staircase features two feature treads:
These two feature treads allow the bottom post to be set back by two treads (approx 500mm), making the hallway feel bigger and giving the staircase a grander appearance.
As this staircase only has two treads before the turn, having feature treads means that first flight can be balustrade free.
A turn can be either a quarter landing or a kite winder.
Quarter landings are more pleasant to walk up but take up more space.
With a kite winder, you get three treads within roughly the same space as a quarter landing, which is one tread.
As there's ample space, this staircase features a quarter landing.
We can provide stairs with some components pre-primed.
Primed components aren’t significantly more expensive and will save you extensive time when finishing the stairs, should you be painting it.
Primed components will still need a top coat of emulsion of a colour of your choice.
We would happily recommend to anyone!
Really high quality and exceptional value, the ordering process was really smooth with the design team able to help us find the right solution for our space; we were able to compare and price up different options until we found the perfect solution. Our builders found it straight forward to assemble and they were millimetre perfect to the design. All of our friends and family comment on how beautiful our stairs are, we would happily recommend to anyone!
