N.B. The price shown is based on the staircase above and calculated based on current pricing.
The customer has painted this staircase white on-site; white paint is an ever-popular finish for stairs. The only exception to this is the caps, which are oak pyramid caps. These give excellent contrast to the oak, providing a striking finish.
However, we recommend a timber handrail too, due to the likelihood of painted handrails getting damaged.
We can provide stairs with some components pre-primed.
Primed components aren’t significantly more expensive and will save you extensive time when finishing the stairs, should you be painting it.
Primed components will still need a top coat of emulsion of a colour of your choice.
This staircase has two feature treads, one on top of the other.
Feature treads make the stairs stand out if there's space available.
We offer several different feature tread options, both traditional and modern.
Generally, posts & spindles are square. However, we offer a "stop chamfered" option, where they have a chamfer up the middle going back to square at the top and bottom.
This adds a nice feature and breaks up the "squareness'" of the job.
The client opted to have the treads supplied in Pine (22mm), instead of the standard MDF (22mm).
Some people prefer this when painting as MDF, when painted, can look too smooth as it has no grain.
However, we generally recommend MDF for painting as it's a more stable product.
