About These Stairs:

This job consists of two staircases that are interconnected by a run of balustrades on the first-floor landing.
They were supplied to "Humayra's Home" in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

Bullnose Feature Tread:

We offer numerous options for feature treads. However, this staircase's traditional curved bullnose feature tread is still the most popular choice.

Traditional bullnoses have the following advantages:

  • Staying within the width of the staircase.
  • Moving the posts back by one tread depth creates a feeling of more space.
  • The most cost-effective feature tread option.

Embedded Glass Panels:

We offer glass panels either:

  • On clamps (with a choice of style and finish).
  • Embedded into a groove within the handrail & baserail.

The glass on this staircase is embedded into a groove between the oak handrail and baserail.
All glass panels we supply are made to measure for each staircase.

HDR Handrail:

We keep two handrail profiles in stock; the most popular choice for use with glass balustrades is the "modern choice" profile.

However, this staircase features HDR profile handrail, which remains an ever-popular choice with its excellent looks and ergonomics.

Two Interconnecting Stairs:

TKstairs supplied the ground-floor and first-floor stairs for this property simultaneously which allowed them to be fitted and the glass was sent later once the stairs had been fitted.

Carpeted Oak Staircase:

If an oak stair is to be carpeted, it doesn't make sense to supply the treads and risers oak, given the cost saving.

As such, this staircase features MDF treads and plywood risers, ideally suited to carpeting

Underside Of Stairs Covered With Oak Veneered MDF:

We supplied this staircase with oak-veneered MDF to be attached to the underside. Normally, the underside of stairs like this are covered with plasterboard. However, oak-veneered MDF can look effective.
