N.B. The price shown is based on the staircase above and calculated based on current pricing.

Steep Staircase:

As seen on the drawing, this staircase doesn't comply with current building regulations.

However, the customer ordered this staircase to replace an existing staircase, which needed replacement. It wasn't feasible to make the opening bigger to fit in a staircase that was compliant with current building regulations.

Please note:
You should always get permission from building control when fitting a staircase that doesn't comply with current building regulations.

Bullnose Feature Tread:

We offer numerous options for feature treads. However, this staircase's traditional curved bullnose feature tread is still the most popular choice.

Traditional bullnoses have the following advantages:

  • Staying within the width of the staircase.
  • Moving the posts back by one tread depth creates a feeling of more space.
  • The most cost-effective feature tread option.

Stained Oak Components:

The treads, risers, handrail, baserail & caps have been stained darker to better suit the client's interior.
Osmo offers numerous products for this and can supply sample pots. We can provide oak offcuts to test them on before committing to staining your stairs to ensure you get the desired colour and finish.

Primed Components:

This stair has the following components primed, including:

  • Strings
  • Posts
  • Spindles

Although primed components still need painting with a top coat, they're not significantly more expensive and save time on site.

Stop Chamfered Posts & Spindles:

As standard, posts & spindles on stairs are square. However, on this staircase, the client opted to have them "stop chamfered", which is the extra detail on each edge seen in the photos.

Stop chamfered balustrade gives a different look which can suit both traditional and modern interiors.
