The client wanted a staircase that gave a real "wow factor" to their property. After discussing options with them, it was decided a staircase with curved risers was an excellent option.
Curved risers are achieved by manufacturing each tread curved, with a curved riser groove. Then, each riser is made using bendable MDF, and veneered with a real wood veneer.
The radius of the curve is determined by how far the centre point projects past the theoretical riser line (shown in the diagram below).
For this staircase, 78mm was used. However, this variable can be changed depending on customer preference.
We offer glass panels either:
This staircase features glass on clamps, D-Shape, Brushed Metal.
We offer glass clamps in D-Shape or Square style.
Finished in either; Brushed Metal, Polished Metal or Black Metal.
When you have two turns next to each other, you end up with a double post, as each turn requires a post for structural integrity.
However, the lower post (on the winder) could finish lower, and the tops of the posts would be steeped.
However, the customer preferred the look of having the posts level. As such, the lower post (on the winder) has been extended up to the same height as the upper post (on the landing). Creating the requirement for a double post cap.
We keep both double flat and pyramid caps in stock.
This staircase features two feature treads:
These two feature treads allow the bottom post to be set back by two treads (approx 500mm). They are pushing the first post away from the door and creating a feeling of more space.
We had to switch suppliers during lock down one as the company initially chose shut down leaving us stranded. Happy coincidence as your staircase is a real wow factor!

Happy coincidence as your staircase is a real wow factor curved oak stair treads spotted on your gallery two years in the making and worth the wait. Big thank you to Dan for his help and patience and to the online design tool, which I spent many hours on tweaking designs.
