N.B. The price shown is based on the staircase above and calculated based on current pricing.
When ordering a staircase, it's normal to want to have the entire staircase manufactured from oak.
However, ordering part of the staircase in pine or primed timber to paint saves money and often can look as good or better depending on your taste as it breaks up the materials and creates a striking contrast.
As standard, posts & spindles on stairs are square. However, on this staircase, the client opted to have them "stop chamfered", which is the extra detail on each edge seen in the photos.
Stop chamfered balustrade gives a different look which can suit both traditional and modern interiors.
The majority of double-turn staircases turn 180 degrees back on themselves.
However, there are circumstances such as this one where the stairs must have two turns that turn in opposite directions.
If an oak stair is to be carpeted, it doesn't make sense to supply the treads and risers oak, given the cost saving.
As such, this staircase features MDF treads and plywood risers, ideally suited to carpeting.
This staircase signature handrail, which we only sell as a special order.
Please get in touch if you require this handrail profile on your stairs.
We can provide stairs with some components pre-primed.
Primed components aren’t significantly more expensive and will save you extensive time when finishing the stairs, should you be painting it.
Primed components will still need a top coat of emulsion of a colour of your choice.
