When specifying and buying a staircase, there are many material options available.
Often, customers opt for the entire staircase to be painted in oak or paint the whole staircase.
However, a mix of materials, such as this staircase, can look quite effective and is much more cost-effective than having the entire staircase made of oak.
We do not generally recommend painting the "touch points," i.e., the handrail, post caps, and treads, as the paint can easily chip and look unsightly.
We offer glass panels either:
This staircase features glass on clamps.
We offer glass clamps in D-Shape or Square style.
Finished in either; Brushed Metal, Polished Metal or Black Metal.
When a staircase is between two walls, such as this, to comply with building regulations, a handrail must still be present in case someone falls.
The simplest way to secure a handrail to the wall is to use handrail brackets. Our shop offers both handrails and brackets in various styles and materials.
We supplied this staircase to the show home at the Shepard's Well development by Risby Homes in Beverley.
If an oak stair is to be carpeted, it doesn't make sense to supply the treads and risers oak, given the cost saving.
As such, this staircase features MDF treads and plywood risers, ideally suited to carpeting.
