N.B. The price shown is based on the staircase above and calculated based on current pricing.
This staircase isn't carpeted.
As such, the customer opted for solid 22mm oak treads and oak veneered risers. Oak veneered risers are ideally suited for an oak staircase that isn't being carpeted and keeps the cost down compared to using a solid timber riser.
Solid timber risers are required when you can see the bottom of the riser, for example, an open riser or exposed back staircase.
However, for stairs such as this one, they are not required.
An unusual feature of this staircase is that the feature treads are not symmetrical. The right hand side has bullnoses, whereas the left hand side has curtails.
The customer requested this detail to suit the hallway and their preference so as not to bring the staircase too close to the front door.
Using curtails on the right hand side would have increased the stair's footprint.
The embedded panels on this staircase go up the inside and also on the right-hand side after the feature treads because there is no wall here.
With embedded panels, each panel is made to measure to suit the staircase in question.
This is the case for all made-to-measure stairs. As the angles and dimensions are all different, we supply all glass bespoke to that job.
As standard, posts & spindles on stairs are square. However, on this staircase, the client opted to have them "stop chamfered", which is the extra detail on each edge seen in the photos.
Stop chamfered balustrade gives a different look which can suit both traditional and modern interiors.
Sturdy stairs, went together well, looking great!
