Fixing Kit Guide:
Step 1:
Once the staircase is in and the posts have been fitted, place the pre cut spindle against the post at the bottom and also at the top. Then sit the handrail on top of these and make a small mark where the top of the handrail meets the post at the bottom and where the underside of the handrail meets the post at the top.
Step 2:
On the bottom post measure to the center of the post and then 18mm down from the marking from the top of the handrail. Drill a 30mm diameter hole 6mm deep at this point.
For landing handrails mark and drill from the top of the handrail as per the bottom post scenario.
Step 3:
On the bottom side of the handrail measure to the center of the handrial and then 18mm from the top and drill a small pilot hole 40mm deep for the screw at this point.
On the top side of the handrail measure to the center of the handrail and then 18mm from the underside and drill a small pilot hole 40mm deep for the screw at this point.
The pilot holes should be drilled 90 degrees to the end cuts of the rails.
Step 4:
Fit the kit into the 30mm hole in the post in the order shown below.
The full circular component should fit in first with the spring clip on top.
Step 5:
Add the washer to the screws and fit them into the pilot holes in the rails, then add some wood glue to the surface of the two ends of the handrail with the screws in.
The screw head on the rail will then slot into the hole in the post and slide downwards clicking into place securely.
