Case Studies - Black painted stair with embedded glass panels

REF: 51315-folly

3D Model:

Notable Features:

Black Painted Staircase:

It's possible to paint your stairs any colour you wish. We even offer various components pre-primed to make the job easier.

Painted stairs can add a new dimension to your interior. This staircase has been painted black. Black and grey paints are ever popular for finishing stairs. Combined with the property's interior, a modern look has been achieved.

Embedded Glass Panels:

We offer glass panels either:
- On clamps (with a choice of style and finish).
- Embedded into a groove within the handrail & baserail.

The glass on this staircase is embedded into a groove between the pine handrail and baserail.
All glass panels we supply are made to measure for each staircase.

Quarter Landing Turn:

When there's a quarter turn on a staircase, that turn can be either a kite winder or a quarter landing.

Quarter landings take up more space than a kite winder. However, they're cheaper, pleasant to walk up, and, it can be argued, look better.

LED Lighting:

We do not supply stairs with built-in LED lights. However, the customer has added LED lights to their stairs. There are various ways to do this, which can look effective, as seen in the photos.

Customer Feedback

So pleased with our stairs from TKstairs, the designing process was extremely easy and they were always on hand to offer advice and made the process in designing them so much easier. They fitted in perfectly when they arrived. - Donna Folly

Styles & Materials

Construction Methods:

All layouts of staircases can be constructed in different ways which will effect the final finish, these include:

  • Open riser construction; this is where the risers are left open with either a timber strip or metal bar built in to comply to regulations.
  • Cut string construction; where the sides of the strings are cut away so the treads can be seen, this can either be done in a modern or traditional way.

Materials:

The materials used on your staircase will have a dramatic effect on how they look, most stairs will use the following materials.

  • Pine; all our stairs are manufactured from high quality furniture grade pine, we do not use any whitewood.
  • White Oak; we can manufacture all or part(s) of your staircase from premium White Oak, to give that stunning finish.
  • Glass; we offer stairs with glass balustrade, either as small panels or large panels, secured with brackets or by embedding with a groove.
