Customer Feedback

"We did a huge make-over of our barn conversion and really struggled to find the right answer for a flight of stairs serving a loft study. They needed to blend into the room rather than be a feature and the stairs you made for us have provided the perfect answer. I hope the pictures to follow will be of some use - taken on my phone as I don't have a camera at the moment. The new stairs replaced a spiral staircase and as they serve only a loft didn't need to comply with building regs, which was something many people couldn't handle. I was so very happy and relieved to find your company. The whole experience was a joy from start to finish. Within hours of providing the dimensions, specifying oak treads, softwood stringers without risers and no balustrade we had a price, a plan and a 3D perspective of the stairs. In considerably less than the 3-week delivery period quoted, we had the stairs themselves which are a great success. They are complimented by everyone who sees them. After months of trying to find a solution from other suppliers, who didn't even seem to be able to give us a price let alone build exactly what we wanted, we were really happy to find a company so focussed on making the entire process so stream-lined and quick, delivering a quality product, ahead of time and within our budget. We would unreservedly recommend your company to anyone in the market for a new staircase. Many thanks & best wishes - Melanie Mawer" - Melanie Mawer

These have a single turn, turning left or right, which can be either a landing or kite winder.

These have two turns, left or right. Using kite winders, landings or a half landing.

For straight stairs, quarter turn stairs (single turn) or half turn staircases (two turns), these can be ordered on our website and are available for fast delivery.

Paddle Staircases:

Also known as space saver or loft staircases, these are half the length of a normal staircase but can only be used in certain scenarios.

Other Layouts:

We also offer other staircase layouts, these include, paddle stairs, S-shape stairs, T-shape stairs or stairs with three or more turns. We also offer stairs suitable for commercial buildings which are wider and made from more substantial materials than domestic staircases.

Styles & Materials

Construction Methods:

All layouts of staircases can be constructed in different ways which will effect the final finish, these include:

  • Open riser construction; this is where the risers are left open with either a timber strip or metal bar built in to comply to regulations.
  • Cut string construction; where the sides of the strings are cut away so the treads can be seen, this can either be done in a modern or traditional way.

Materials:

The materials used on your staircase will have a dramatic effect on how they look, most stairs will use the following materials.

  • Pine; all our stairs are manufactured from high quality furniture grade pine, we do not use any whitewood.
  • White Oak; we can manufacture all or part(s) of your staircase from premium White Oak, to give that stunning finish.
  • Glass; we offer stairs with glass balustrade, either as small panels or large panels, secured with brackets or by embedding with a groove.
